Any advice or bad experiences with cargo boxes?
I have visions of them flying off my roof... especially if I cheap out and go the Canadian Tire or used route. Any thoughts (or cargo boxes to sell?).

My advice is don't go cheap. We used to have one of those budget, boxy things, and they are truly flimsy - often constructed of ultra-lite materials. Plus, you can't put skis in them! Brand name ski pods (Thule, etc) are worth it, because they will last forever, and even a medium sized ski pod will hold a surprising amount of luggage. They do go on sale occasionally at Canadian Tire, but you might also look online for gently used. Best of luck, Peter
We had an experience where the top of our Thule blew off while driving through a major wind storm, but to give Thule credit, they sent us a brand new box despite the fact that ours was several years old. Not sure if anything would have withstood that storm and I definitely was impressed by their customer service.
