Trillium Grant awarded to KN

The Board of Directors is excited to announce that Kawartha Nordic has been awarded a Trillium Grant of $221,800 over three years to increase access to recreational activities, particularly for children and youth, by upgrading facilities at the ski lodge and increasing support for volunteer coaches.

The Kawartha Nordic Ski Club gratefully acknowledges the financial support of the Ontario Trillium Foundation. The Foundation, an agency of the Ministry of Culture, receives $100 million annually in government funding. 

Thanks to their generous grant to Kawartha Nordic approved in 2014, we are embarking on an exciting new phase for the club. Trillium Funding will support installation of accessible washrooms and lighting for a 2.5 km loop trail. We are also hiring four positions including groomer, day lodge attendant, head coach and youth program coordinator.

Human Resources

  • Hire four part-time positions:
    • groomer
    • day lodge attendant
    • youth program coordinator and
    • head coach

Capital Building

  • Install a well
  • Install a septic system
  • Extend hydro to the Woodfine Chalet
  • Create accessible washrooms
  • Install lighting for a 2.5 km loop trail

Organizational Development and Marketing

  • Hire a consultant to review organizational governance and policies
  • Hire a consultant to develop a marketing plan
